IRS 2023 E-Filing Requirements
The rules for the IRS in 2023 for submitting paper 1099, W2s, and ACA have changed. The new rules require any organization with 10 or more combined 1099, W2s, and ACA forms must file them electronically. The IRS has provided a website for each form where you upload a electronically generated file.
Don’t worry Pro Fund has you covered. Pro Fund will provide an area to generate the electronic file for each required form.
In order to access the IRS website to submit the E-files you will need to have two individuals create an ID.ME login account. Please note that your ID.ME account will be a personal account and has no connection to the business that needs to E-file.
Once you have created your ID.ME account, you will have to go the IRS online and apply for access for the websites to upload the E-file.
It can take more than 30 days for the approval to be applied so please make sure you get an early jump here in October.
There are 3 IRS websites that you may need to request access to: 1099, W2 and ACA.
You only need to request access to the websites if you must file the form. If you don’t file for the ACA, then there is no need to request access to the ACA website.
